On April 3rd, She Chunming, Director-general of Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, met with Mr. Ken Smith, Chairman of Victoria Branch of Australian-China Business Council and his parties in Jinan and conducted an in-depth exchange on further deepening the economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and Victoria. She Chunming introduced the situation of Shandong-Australia economic and trade cooperation and the comprehensive pilot area for the replacement of the old growth drivers with new ones in the province. He said, “Victoria, as a big continent of Australia’s traditional economy, with large enterprises gathered, is strongly complementary to key industries such as medical and health care of Shandong province. The cooperation between Shandong and Victoria shows a good momentum. It is hoped that under the strategic cooperation memorandum mechanism, the two sides will strengthen their daily work exchanges and strengthen specific projects cooperation. We also welcome Victoria and related companies to participate in China International Import Expo.” Mr. Ken Smith said that Victoria is economically developed and is also the location of the regional headquarters of many Chinese enterprises. The medical industry is well-developed and the construction and operation modes are of great significance for reference. He hoped to carry out further cooperation with Shandong and will assist in supporting Shandong province to establish representative offices in Australia and conduct related economic and trade cooperation activities.
